Pressing the SELECT key, when only the ultrasound image is on the screen, will display the main menu. By scrolling through the menu using the cursor control keys, with the arrow pointing up- and downwards, any item can be highlighted and then activated by pressing the SELECT key again. This will display a second menu from which any item can be chosen, by using the cursor control keys as before.

Pressing SELECT again will result in one of the following:

1. Another menu.
2. An action, for example the appearance of a measurement caliper cross.
3. Programming of the chosen item.
